Post Office "Town Meeting"
TOWN MEETING IS THIS TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 15th at 6:30 PM, at the College Hill Recreation Center.
There will be a "Town Meeting". This "Town Meeting" will be to discuss the possible closing of the College Hill Post Office.
Post Office Officials will be in attendance to present their views and to get input from the community.
It is VITAL that all of College Hill turns out to show our support for keeping the post office in College Hill.
Obviously the petitions that have been signed, and submitted, by many of you have been helpful in showing our concern. A LARGE turnout, of visible concerned residents is even more effective!!!!!!!!!!!
For the meeting carpool, walk, hike get there by whatever means necessary. Check with your friends and neighbors to see if they need rides. Let's do everything that we can do to get to that meeting. Let nothing deter us from this endeavor!!!!!
--------------------------------
FEASIBILITY STUDY: As a College Hill Resident you probably received this study. Please, Please fill it out and return it promptly. We received it today, Wednesday, November 2nd. Our office will fill it out and put it in Thursday, November 3rd's mail. No matter what is planned we ALL need to continue the course to STOP any closure at ALL COST!!!!! We truly appreciate EVERYONE doing THEIR PART. ---------------------------- Have you signed a petition? Have you passed the petition on in your area/business/home? Have you done as much as you can?
We are awaiting a date and time but must remain vigilant. Until then Thank You All ~ If No One Else Has Said It! According to the office of Steve Chabot this is NOT a done deal. There will be a hearing that will be open to the public. No date or time has been revealed as of today! Also, any legal resident of Hamilton County can sign the petition! And as previously reported ~ please know that Hartman & Erhrmantraut CPAs will provide you with as many of these blank petitions, as you would like. Please feel free to take them and have them signed in your neighborhood ~ or anywhere else in College Hill that you can cover. Let's get all of the signatures that are possible! In the meantime please remember to sign the petitions in the community. Again, they are located at the following locations: Please remember, since the perception is that we do NOT use our Post Office enough ~ foot traffic would dispel that!!!!

Cincinnati Recreation Cincinnati's "I Can Swim!" Project

As of September 2011, we dedicate this project in honor of the Jeff brothers. Cameron {Age 10} and Bryce {Age 8} were not only brothers, but each other's best friends. They enjoyed being around their large family; being on the computer, playing video games; and especially being outdoors. However, they could not swim.- Nine people drown each day in the U.S.
- Drowning is the 2nd leading cause of accidental death in children under 14.
- In ethnically diverse communities, the youth drowing rate is more than double the national average.

What's Going on, on Heitzler?
A resident, who lives on Heitzler, sent me this information to pass onto others who live on the same street. She was curious about the white X's being marked on the sidewalks along Heitzler. She contacted the City and here is the information that she received:
"In an effort to make the sidewalks in your College Hill neighborhood safer and more pedestrian-friendly, the City of Cincinnati, Department of Transportation and Engineering (DOTE) is currently completing sidewalk inspections for several hundred locations in preparation for the 2012 Sidewalk Safety Program. If there are "X's" marked on the sidewalks and/or driveways abutting your property, you will be receiving a Notice to Repair in the spring. For your reference, I have attached the Condemnation Guidelines that were used by the DOTE inspectors while completing the necessary documentation in College Hill. When you receive the above mentioned Notice to Repair it will explain what work needs to be completed, the time frame to have the work completed; should you choose to hire a contractor privately, and an estimated cost to have the required work completed; should you choose to have the city contractor complete the work for you."

CORNER McAuley Classes Witness Live Surgery, Thanks to Technology On Tuesday, October 25, the students in Mrs. Cindy Werner's Anatomy & Physiology and Human Biology classes had an extraordinary opportunity to watch a live kidney transplant surgery. Christ Hospital hosted a live feed and was broadcast in McAuley High School's Performing Arts Center to 69 students. (In years past, only four students could go to the hospital to witness live surgeries.) The broadcast was facilitated by Mrs. Connie Helmers, AV Tech/Library Aide. About this rare opportunity, senior Sarah Rocklin shared, "The kidney transplant was a very interesting experience for me. Actually seeing the process made me appreciate more about my body and the surgical team." Another senior, Katie Holley, said, "ChristHospital did a great job of explaining to us everything that was happening in the surgery and I am really glad we had the opportunity to experience this." Thanks to Kathy Dietrich for the article.
