  • The College Hill Block Party--a Five-Day Celebration of Love & Joy August 2-6
  • One expression of College Hill's renewal has been the growth of our community-wide College Hill Block Party the first week of August. This year, it seems like everyone's involved.

On Tuesday, the College Hill Presbyterian Church (CHPC) and the Forum sponsor the National Night Out Community BBQ and Celebration; on Wednesday, LLanfair and Twin Towers are donating the money for the Big Band Concert and Ice Cream Social; on Thursday, the Three on Three basketball night is spearheaded by Nath'l Moore from Christ's Community; on Friday, Sports Personalities, Inspiration Speakers & Music is made possible by College Hill Churches, and finally, on Saturday, there's a Pancake Breakfast and a Pool Party planned by the College Hill Recreation Center.

CHPC started this celebration as a chance to get to know their neighbors, but the vision for this party on the hill was that the community would embrace the chance to get together and build on that neighborhood feeling, and celebrate what an awesome community College Hill really is--and that's exactly what's happened.

The events each week day will take place from 6:00- 9:00 PM on the College Hill Presbyterian Church parking lot at the corner of Hamilton and Llanfair. Saturday's events will be at the Rec Center. Watch for more details in next weeks' eNewsletter.

  • College Hill Library

The College Hill Branch Library Community Cookout is back by popular demand. Last year--the first year for this event--drew 300 people. This year, everyone's invited to an afternoon of food, drinks and games on July 22, from Noon to 3:00 PM in the library's back garden. Everything's free, provided through private donations--not out of the library budget.
