College Hill
Sampler I Gets Rave Reviews
|
|
College Hill Sampler I, a mountain dulcimer and folk music
festival, was presented on a beautiful Saturday afternoon and
evening on May 28 at Heitzler Field, College Hill Recreation
Center and Gulden Community Center in Twin Towers. Over 140 people
from College Hill and as far away as Tulsa, Oklahoma, attended
what promises to be a very successful College Hill annual event.
Jean Ritchie, internationally known singer, songwriter and author
and the featured artist for the event wrote, "Thanks for giving us
such a lovely time at your new festival--may it have many many
years of growth, prosperity, and a widespreading of the "good
vibes" that were present ... We truly appreciate your efforts to
offset some of the bad things going on in the world with this
gathering's very noticeable feelings of love, belief in goodness
and much grace. " |

In Upcoming
Issues.....
|
|
There are so many good things happening in College Hill, it's
hard to know where to start; it will take us a while just to catch
up. In future issues, expect to about:
- The status of the Linden Park Commons development effort at
the corners of Hamilton & North Bend. and how it's scope has
expanded beyond what we had imagined.
- The work the Ministerium and Christ's Community in College
Hill have been doing to redefine and revitalize their role in
support of the community.
- A host of upcoming events, such as the Block Party in
August, the Rhythm Race in September, and the Pumpkin Patch
Festival in October.
- What several College Hill volunteer organizations are doing
to improve the quality of life in College Hill.
- And, perhaps, news of another development project that's not
at Hamilton & North Bend.
Finally, do let the editor know what you think of this effort
to provide College Hill with an eNewsletter. If you've got news,
send it in. If you've got suggestions, send those, too. The
editor's name & email address are just to the left of this
article.
